I enjoy working in graphics and I have been fortunate in my previous jobs to have had access to the full adobe suite. Photoshop is a great tool and even after years of use I still learn new tricks every now and then. The images in the book on this page shows some of the layout techniques I have developed from my Photoshop skills.
Whilst I was working at RGP I led the company marketing strategy for the London office, I produced company news letters (shown here) and architectural photo-montages, merging proposed building schemes in existing photographs.
I originally learnt to use Photoshop whilst at Broadway Malyan Architects some ten years ago at the time it was a reluctant move from using Coral paint and Coral Draw. Moving to Photoshop, then Illustrator and Indesign brought so much control to presentations, they become your best friends, particularly when working on 3D renderings.
Most of my skills have been learnt in anger (so to speak), fighting to get a presentation completed to a tight deadline. You can't knock it though when you learn something under pressure you don't tend to forget how you did it and when you make a mistake like forgetting to save your file every so often in Photoshop (because CAD software auto saved), you won't forget again if you lose three hours of work when the PC crashes!
